In performances described as “...perfectly attuned, perfectly delightful...” (St. Louis Post Dispatch), the Calyx Piano Trio never fails to thrill audiences with their musical partnership, expressive ensemble playing, and brilliant virtuosity. Formed in 2001, the Calyx Piano Trio features Catherine French, violin, Jennifer Lucht, cello, and Nina Ferrigno, piano. The Trio has performed in the United States on the Morrison Artist Series (San Francisco), at the Sheldon Concert Hall and the Kranzberg Arts Center (St. Louis), and on series of the Brooklyn Friends of Chamber Music (NY), Pamlico Musical Society (NC), Newton Free Library (MA), Curtisville Consortium (MA) and James Library Center for the Arts (MA). Multi-year festival residencies include those at the Carolina Chamber Music Festival and Missouri Chamber Music Festival. The Calyx Trio strives to expand the repertoire through the performance and commissioning of new works (Barlow Foundation and Chamber Music America) and has earned a reputation of defying stereotypes with programming that combines masterworks with original pieces by living composers.
